This is the second event in Kehilla's Contemporary & Historical Legacies of Jews of Color Series!

Lewis R. Gordon is an Afro-Jewish (Sephardic & Mizrahi) public intellectual, academic, and musician who has presented public lectures and musical performances across the globe internationally. The author of many books, he has received the Gustavus Myers Award for Outstanding Work on Human Rights & the Eminent Scholar Award from the International Studies Association.

His most recent book is Fear of Black Consciousness (Penguin, 2022; Picador, 2023). In 2023, Bloomsbury published Black Existentialism and Decolonizing Knowledge Writings of Lewis R. Gordon, a reader of some of his most important writings.
