Jewish Wisdom for Living in Community

Scheduling Update! Brit Class postponed until Nov 3rd! All other dates the same-- it will run for 7 weeks (instead of 8).

Jewish Wisdom for Living in Community:
Laying a foundation for creating Kehilla's community brit / covenant

Co-taught by Kehilla’s Spiritual Leadership Team

Weekly on Mondays from 7-9 pm for 8 sessions, multi-access, starting October 27th

In the coming year, Kehilla will be creating a brit, or communal covenant, to help ground us and guide us as we deepen our connections and continue to co-create this joyful, kind and welcoming community for all of us. Creating a brit is one of the priorities of our Renewing Kehilla organizational development process, helping to articulate clear and transparent communal norms, aspirations and expectations that are rooted in Jewish teaching. This 8 session class, co-taught by Kehilla's Spiritual Leadership team, will explore some of those Jewish teachings and foundational texts. The process of creating the brit will be a community-wide process, inviting input and feedback from all Kehilla members. There will be a Brit Drafting Team, made up of Kehilla members, spiritual and lay leaders and staff, that will develop a draft of the brit, and revise it after receiving input and feedback from Kehilla's membership. This class is a prerequisite for applying to be on the Brit Drafting Team, so that everyone on that team will have shared learning as a foundation. The class is open to all who want to learn about Jewish teachings on living in community.
